Thank you for your interest in Arkay Foundation.
The foundation's
primary focus is to foster an understanding of the need for sustainable environmental and social policies.
Program
areas include:
- Voter education and participation in the democractic process;
- Health care accessibility to all persons including the availability of alternative health
practices and prevention progrms that are proven to be effective in health promotion;
- Education
to increase public understanding of the impact of globalization, population, and consumption on ecological health, human rights,
and democracy;
- Sustainable agriculture, food security, and nutrition.
The Foundation does not give priority to local programs located in the Carmel/Monterey
area, unless there is evidence that the local program has the potential for leveraging change and having a wide-spread impact.
Please note that most grants are initiated by the Foundation. Members of the Arkay Foundation Board of Directors are
actively involved in seeking out and learning about programs related to the Foundation's priorities. Board members bring
their ideas and recommendations to the Foundation for review and discussion by the full Board of Directors.
