The Foundation's
primary goals are to strengthen participartory democracy in the United States and to support innovative efforts to protect
the environment.
Program areas include:
Enhancing the Democractic Process by supporting groups that:
- Promote civic
engagement and monitor election processes
- Ensure accuracy in the media
- Develop sound public policy
- Encourage campaign finance reform
Conserving Resources by supporting effective strategies to:
- Promote sustainable uses of resources
- Provide education about consumption
- Engage in research and development on alternative energy sources
- Protect the integrity
of science
The Foundation gives priority to programs that have the potential
for leveraging change and having widespread impact.
Please note that most grants are initiated by the Foundation.
Members of the Arkay Foundation Board of Directors are actively involved in seeking out and learning about programs related
to the Foundation's priorities. Board members bring their ideas and recommendations to the Foundation for review and discussion
by the full Board of Directors.
